Reverse Repo Rate (Fixed)
Monetary Policy · Reserve Bank of India (RBI) — rbi.org.in · data as of 2026-11-08
Latest value
- Reverse Repo Rate (Fixed): 3.35 %
- As of: 2026-11-08
What it measures
The rate at which the RBI absorbs excess liquidity from banks by borrowing overnight against government securities — historically the floor of the LAF corridor, now a legacy fixed-rate facility alongside the SDF.
How it is calculated
Set administratively by the RBI, not by a formula; since April 2022 the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) — which needs no collateral — has taken over as the corridor's operative floor, leaving the Fixed Reverse Repo Rate largely unused but still published.
Release and revisions
Published: As per RBI notification (rarely revised)
As per RBI MPC meeting calendar, though this specific rate is revised far less often than the repo rate
Revisions: Rarely revised outside an MPC cycle; unchanged at 3.35% since 2020 even as the repo rate has moved.
