Urban Unemployment Rate (Quarterly Bulletin)
Labour & Employment · NSO Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) — mospi.gov.in · data as of 2026-06-30
Latest value
- Urban Unemployment Rate (Quarterly Bulletin): 6.7%
- As of: 2026-06-30
What it measures
Unemployment Rate for urban areas only, from PLFS's quarterly urban bulletin — a faster but not directly comparable read on urban labour-market conditions between annual reports.
How it is calculated
Uses the Current Weekly Status (CWS) approach on an urban-only sample, released quarterly — a different activity-status window than the Usual Status approach used in the annual report, so the two series are not directly comparable.
