What it measures
Unemployment Rate for rural areas only, from PLFS's quarterly bulletin — a faster but not directly comparable read on rural labour-market conditions between annual reports.
How it is calculated
Uses the Current Weekly Status (CWS) approach on a rural-only sample, released quarterly — a different activity-status window than the Usual Status approach used in the annual report, so the two series are not directly comparable.
