What it measures
Net Foreign Investment (Foreign Direct Investment + Foreign Portfolio Investment combined) flowing into India's Capital Account in a fiscal year, per RBI's Balance of Payments statistics.
How it is calculated
RBI compiles net Foreign Investment as a sub-component of the Capital Account within its Balance of Payments statistics, combining FDI and FPI flows since BoP accounting does not split them further.
